How did it strike you on arrival?
Cavernous, slightly chaotic, and nearly always crowded—this is not just a hotel, but a destination to cross off the checklist for visitors to Singapore. It can feel almost too busy, but that's just proof that you're in one of the country's most Instagrammed hotspots.
What’s the crowd like?
This is a place with mass appeal—the camps here include everyone from corporates to couples, group tours to families.
The good stuff: Tell us about your room.
The first thing to know is that there are two hotels within the Marina Bay Sands complex following its 2024, billion-dollar renovation: the Sands Collection, and the ultra-luxe Paiza Collection. While the Sands Collection rooms are swish by any standard, it’s the Paiza Collection suites that truly do this Crazy Rich Asians filming location justice. These remarkable accommodations push the boundaries of hospitality, with butler service from one of the largest teams in the world—reachable on call within seconds via WhatsApp—alongside dreamy in-room facilities that could include a private spa, a modern Himalayan salt cave, or some other pampering space you never knew you needed depending on which suite category you’re in. Ours came with our own golf simulator, a personal gym kitted out with stunning Pent brand handcrafted equipment, and breathtaking views of the Marina Bay area across the glass-walled living and dining rooms.
We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?
Listen, you may never want to leave the bed once you collapse onto the hand-made Savoir mattress, constructed using centuries-old methods with layers of hand-teased horse tail, Mongolian yak wool, and pure cashmere. But the plush Casada massage chair in the bedroom offers reason to part with sleep for a while.
How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that worth a mention?
Never mind the mini bar—Paiza Collection guests should head to Paiza Sky Residence, the 55th floor private club lounge, for maximalist treats. Here, you can nibble on a full spread while a tea sommelier conducts a personal kung fu tea ceremony for you, or indulge in bespoke cocktails at the signature Whiskey Bar, home to a mind-boggling range of vintage pours.
Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down.
There’s a massive double massage shower room and a standalone tub, which your butler will help you fill whenever you want a soak. The full range of bath goodies from Acqua di Parma, and the house-branded toothbrushes—with silver handles and refillable heads—are some of the fanciest we’ve seen
We all need some good Wi-Fi. What’s the word on that?
It’s free and fast.
Anything stand out about other services and features?
The world's largest rooftop infinity pool is on the 57th floor and open only to hotel guests. It's so social media-worthy that non-guests have tried sneaking into the area just to steal a shot. The property also has a bunch of restaurants by celebrity chefs that are among Singapore's best.
What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay?
Staying in one of Asia's most iconic buildings is a pretty memorable experience—it is frequently featured in the media. And the view!
Bottom line: worth it?
With rooms starting from around $2,125, staying here comes at a price. But forking out for one puts you smack in the action of Singapore's glamorous Marina Bay area and gives you access to the adjoining casino (the country's poshest), not to mention that pool. Totally worth it.
