Why book?
To explore Union Market's buzzy dining scene, or to just stay in and cocoon within the hotel's restful blue tones.
Set the scene
The lobby of this very contemporary hotel feels especially dreamy, thanks to high ceilings with chunky columns, serpentine pale blue couches, and even a Champagne vending machine. Consider this a respite from the work world for weary business travelers.
The backstory
Part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, the 203-room hotel opened in 2022 promising to be a flagship hotel in NoMa. Something new for the neighborhood is the sophisticated rooftop space, Upstairs at The Morrow, which boasts sweeping views of the U.S. Capitol and Washington Monument from its outdoor terrace.
The rooms
Dusky shades from inky midnight to pale blue serve as the palette for The Morrow's rooms. The bathrooms are outfitted with Le Labo bath and body products. Spring for a spacious Balcony room, with an envy-inducing closet space, big shower and soaking tub, and your own balcony overlooking the city hustle.
Food and drink
Michelin-starred chef Nicholas Stefanelli created his own version of a French bistro, with curvy booths and a gorgeous marble bar. The mood at Le Clou is celebratory, with gougères and bubbles, seafood towers and a cheese cart. Upstairs at The Morrow is a more let-your-hair-down type of fun, with frozen rosé and gummy bear shots at the bar.
The neighborhood/area
What used to be a collection of warehouses in Northeast D.C. is becoming almost unrecognizable, as high-rise apartment towers and food hall after food hall more in. The Morrow is situated in NoMa, right near the Union Market district, which is home to independent boutiques and dozens of restaurants—including a fleet of restaurants from Stephen Starr as a follow-up to his D.C. hit Le Diplomate. It's also a quick drive from Union Station, which is handy if you're running late for the Amtrak.
The service
The front desk team can set you up with a buckwheat or memory foam pillow from the "pillow menu", or aromatherapy oils and Moroccan mint tea as part of the hotel's self-care offerings.
For families
The "Morrow Explorers" program allows kids to check out a backpack filled with crayons and a coloring book, a little robe and slippers, and the classic children's book "Goodnight Moon." Families can also ring up the front desk for a glass of milk and a plate of cookies before bed.
Eco effort
The Morrow's building was designed to LEED-Gold certification specifications, and sustainable features include green roof areas and energy-efficient HVAC.
Accessibility
Accessible king, queen, and one-bedroom suites can be found here.
Anything left to mention?
The hotel boasts a pristine gym and partners up with local instructors for cool fitness collabs, like classes with Black woman-founded fitness brand Sidebarre.
