Give us an overview.
We all know what we’re getting from a Hyatt. But what distinguishes this particular iteration is the city of Portland itself, and where this Hyatt is situated. The tastefully neutral-toned property is steps from almost anything you want in Old Port—from the coveted tables of celebrated restaurants to the arts district and boats making their way out to the Casco Bay Islands.
Tell us about your room. What made it stand out?
Ours was spacious (323 square feet) with separate sleeping and living areas. And creature comforts pervaded—from the in-room Chromecast to the plush bed. But it was the view across the city and spacious work area that made the room a place you actually wanted to spend time in.
Is there a charge for Wi-Fi?
WiFi and remote printing are free for guests.
Drinking and dining—what are we looking at?
Glass Lounge and Restaurant serves burgers, sandwiches, and salads, alongside cocktails and local craft beers and wine. The Breakfast Bar has plenty of a.m. options—the likes of customized breakfast tacos, cage-free scrambled eggs with whatever toppings you point to, or light healthy options like Greek yogurt.
And how was the service?
Commendable and without incident. Everything was streamlined and taken care of.
Any other hotel features worth noting?
EV charging stations, a lovely (albeit small) indoor pool, a well-outfitted gym, and dog-friendly rooms.
Bottom line: Worth it? Why?
With so many high-quality amenities and, above all, such a superb location in town, there are plenty of things to recommend this as a choice stay in Portland.
