    Why book?

Ask a local about Bobby Hotel Nashville, and they’ll tell you one thing: The bus on the roof is cool. It IS cool, but the hotel is much more than that novelty. It’s a fun, playful spot that takes comfort and hospitality seriously.

    Set the scene

Bobby Hotel Nashville is one of a number of boutique hotels along 4th Avenue North, each with its own vibe and reputation. Since Bobby Hotel opened, it has always been a little offbeat and quirky. In recent years, it has leaned into that tone, spotlighting art exhibits in collaboration with local galleries and hosting a concert series on the rooftop. Pay attention to details as you roam around. The Bobby has lots of clever design elements that it can take a moment to notice, like the Western leather belts lining the inside of the elevator.

    The backstory

Bobby Hotel, owned by Castlerock and opened in 2018, thrives on being a little mysterious. Is Bobby a person? A vibe? A state of being? It’s kind of up to you to decide what or who you think Bobby is. But Bobby is definitely not boring. After all, this is a hotel with a hubcap chandelier hanging over the staircase.

    The rooms

Certain guest rooms may be described as “standard” when you book, but they are not standard when it comes to the decor. The walls are decorated with maps from Bobby’s travels, jewel-tone colors, and funky art. Walls between the bathroom and the bedroom are glass (opaque, of course, for privacy). The hotel has a dog-in-residence, and guests are allowed to bring pets. Allergy-free rooms are available for those who need them.

    Food and drink

Food and drink are available all day and night at the hotel. On the lobby level, you’ll find Café at Bobby, which is your coffee fix and breakfast sammie stop. Union Tavern, also on the first floor, is the dinner spot featuring ingredients from local farms. The Rooftop Lounge hosts a summer concert series—one of the best places in Nashville to hear non-country music. On the roof, you’ll also find a pool and a 1956 Scenicruiser bus that was retrofitted to be a place to eat, drink, and take in the view. Garage Bar features a dive bar vibe (think: PBRs) with an entrance off of Printers Alley.

    The spa

A small spa offers massages of all stripes, from prenatal to relaxation to exfoliating to CBD. ESPA skincare products are used in spa services.

    The neighborhood/area

Located on 4th Avenue North, the property is next to the historic Printers Alley, chock-full of bars and music venues, and the historic Arcade building, home to boutiques and restaurants. It’s a three-block walk down the hill to Lower Broadway, lined with honky-tonks, or four blocks west to catch a play at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center. You can cross the river to get to Nissan Stadium or just see it from the hotel’s rooftop. Long story short, Bobby is as central a downtown address as you can get.

    The service

Bobby Hotel has a friendly, casual vibe, and that’s reflected in the attitude of the staff. These are folks who are happy to see you and happy to provide recommendations on how to have the best Music City experience. But this isn’t a hold-the-door, white-glove kind of place; you won’t hear an honorific title here. Hotel guests do get dibs on tables and tickets for events before locals, such as the rooftop concert series and the 4th of July fireworks festivities.

    For families

Kids will like many aspects of Bobby Hotel, including hanging out with the dog who “works” on-site, and the fun, playful attitude that’s in the air. But kids aren’t allowed at rooftop events (they’re reserved for those ages 21 and older), so it might not be the best bet for a family who wants to spend all their vacation time together.

    Accessibility

The hotel has elevators and meets ADA standards.

    Anything left to mention?

The hotel was the first in Nashville to accept cryptocurrency as a form of payment.
